“Eat your vegetables.” As a kid, I dreaded hearing that, & if you’re like me, you dread having to say it if you have a child that is violently opposed to eating them. Hair Ye, Hair Ye
One of the more challenging aspects of parenting for me came as a surprise: HAIR. As a former tomboy, styling hair was definitely NOT on my list of high priorities as a kid. I had no interest in styling either my own hair, or anyone else’s, for that matter. And if you look back at pictures from my early years in the rockin’ 80’s, that fact is sorely evident. Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is this week, and to celebrate it, The Captain and I decided we’d have a quiet, romantic dinner at home… …then we laughed and laughed, because KIDS. On a serious note, we don’t typically go all out on Valentine’s Day- usually we give each other a thoughtful card and some chocolates. If the opportunity presents itself than we go out for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat, but decided early on to be flexible depending on time and babysitting availability. When Life Gets Screw-y
This week started out ordinary, so there wasn’t much to tell. But it quickly evolved, as life often does with kids, into an insane example of simple gratitude & why even the best childproofing methods sometimes just aren’t enough. Intrigued? Ok, here we go! Monday began with a dull ache in my lower right jaw. By Wednesday, it was not so much a “dull ache” as a “throbbing pain that makes me want to curl into a fetal ball & cry” sort of feeling.
