    Mamicure

Hard as nails…. I have found that that statement, when applied to fingernails (or mine, anyway) is untrue. My fingernails are not hard, if their frequent breakage is any indication. I am rarely able to maintain long, elegant nails because my poor stubby nails never get a chance to grow and flourish. I blame the little people. I’m thinking about nails because last night I finally polished my nails after a looong absence of TLC. I had plans to go out last night, something I also looked forward to after a looong absence. I wasn’t a frequent flier to nail salons prior to having kids, but I enjoyed the occasional…

    Sick Day

Hi, everyone! I hope you’re having a better week than I am. In my last post about the weather, I forgot to mention one of the biggest reasons that I hate the colder temperatures. Germs. Ugh. I’m sick!!!! šŸ™ It’s almost inevitable here that once the temperature dips, someone ends up sick. And no matter how much disinfectant, Purell, and the like are used, it’s difficult to prevent illness from spreading to at least a few people here in the house. TGIF?!

TGIF, everyone! Remember how that used to mean something, before you had kids?? Yeah. Me neither. (It’s funny to me how although I can often mix up my days of the week, I’ll never get to Friday and assume it’s any day other than Friday. That one is always correct in my mental calendar.) Fridays always tend to stick out of the week because for most, they represent the promise of a weekend; two days away from the tedium of the workplace. Two days to relax, snack, perhaps nap. Maybe enjoy leisure activities. I’ve heard that people still do that… If you’re not a SAHM, that is. You know, a…

    The Writing on the Wall

I may joke about having a messy house, but in reality, I’m sort ofĀ anal about trying toĀ keep it clean. I remember waaay back when I watched an episode of Jon & Kate + 8 and she was obsessing endlesslyĀ about her kitchen floor. I remember thinking, “what’s UP with this cah-razy lady?” Now I get it. It’s not so much about things being sanitary, even though it’s important. But it’s also about control. Maybe Kate (read: ME), couldn’t control the screaming vortex of insanity that life with her toddlers generated, so she scrubbed her floor like nine times a day to get through.Ā I sympathize. And I also don’t, because now she’s…
