19 To Life- Six Kids & Still Together
We just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary recently, and it’s genuinely crazy to think we’ve been married that long. I remember watching Thirtysomething* as a kid, and marveling at how long being married as long as the characters were (12 years? 15 years?). They were so… grown-up, with houses, and kids, and jobs, and MARRIAGE. Lots of marriage. (*WHY was I watching this at age 13…?? Who needs that kind of stress & expectation while in junior high?!) The Things We (I) Said Today
I appreciate my husband- he works hard and rocks!- but sometimes the fact that he works most nights as well as days can make home life exhausting (aka tedious, draining, etc.). Usually, I’m totally thankful to be able to be home with our kids. Yesterday, thought, was one of those days- you know the kind all too well. I totally envied his escape into the “outside world”. Gimme A Break!
Back in mid-January, The Captain and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. How’d that happen?? It’s hard to imagine yourself having been married for 14 years when internally, you still feel like you’re about 22. But 14 years and a bajillion kids later, we’re still cute.
