Every year. Every year I tell myself I’ll be prepared, & get my Christmas shopping done early. Every year I tell myself that I’ll be less stressed during the holidays, & more in the place to enjoy the meaning of the season rather than rage-shopping.
And every year… it turns out that I’m a BIG FAT LIAR.
While there are so many meaningful, sentimental aspects to Christmas, when it comes to the shopping, my take on it is: “Bah, humbug!”.
Christmas is a few days off, and some of you finished your shopping long ago. You probably have those gifts wrapped, too.
And one of you needs to be my life coach, because you’ve clearly unlocked another level of responsible adulthood.
But for those of you that are shopping in a panicked, last-minute frenzy- YOU are my people.
Here’s to those of you that end the holiday season as a total hot mess!
1.We knew it was coming. We were warned, by the very same people that shop & wrap weeks in advance. You know who you are.
Good morning to everyone except my friend on Facebook that reminded everyone that there are 113 days until Christmas.

2. Let’s admit it; we had more than enough time. In fact, some kids make their Christmas lists nice & early. I mean REALLY early.
I just got handed a Christmas list with a "To Do" Post-It on top of it, in case you're wondering what it's like to raise a Type A kid.

3. You pick up a few things here & there while the kids are in school…
4. But you also quickly realize that shopping in actual stores blows!

5. But thanks to Amazon, holiday shopping is so.much.easier.
6. How about those Christmas lists? Just when you’ve scooped up the “perfect” gifts, your kid decides she wants THAT one instead.
7. Christmas shopping is when you think of your loved ones… and whether they’re worth the extra shipping charge.
8. I mean, you want to pick the most heartfelt gifts… as long as they arrive on time.
9. …because that Amazon Prime shipping deadline has a way of sneaking up on you, doesn’t it?

10. But somehow, against all odds, you get that shopping done in time. Though the cost to your sanity is priceless.
And the best part? While you tell yourself that you’ll start earlier next year & get it done sooner… you know you’re lying.
Happy Holidays To My Fellow Procrastinators!
