“Eye”Care For Kids- You Do Too, So Schedule Regular Vision Checks
Confession: I had laser-eye surgery when I was 24, but before that, I was extremely nearsighted as a kid. I started wearing glasses around 8, and probably needed them long before that. For kids nowadays, wearing glasses is so not a big deal. There are many cool, trendy frames to choose from; glasses are almost like a fashion accessory. But back to the 80s. As I said, I had a poor prescription. We’re talking the thickness of your average Coke bottle (back when they were still made of glass, young pups). The child accusing you, of course, is certain that he or she is NOT the favorite- the topic comes up to protest some alleged act of favoritism on your part to anyone other than said child. This love manifests itself in some odd forms, too, like food distribution. Seriously, people. Crackers. The kids all have their theories on which child is my favorite. #1 swears its #2. #3 is convinced it’s any sibling except him. #4 is convinced it’s anyone who gets more crackers than her, apparently. #5 thinks it’s her, because…

Mr. Roboto Now Creeps Around My Grocery Store
I have basic routines throughout my week, one of which is to shop at the same damn grocery store every.single.week. In fact, I find myself there what feels like every.single.day., because no matter how carefully we plan, we forget to buy something that requires a trip back. Until last week. Maybe I need to find a new grocery store, because my old reliable is FREAKING ME OUT. It started about three weeks ago. My husband had taken the little kids with him on some errands, one of which included a visit to Stop & Shop for a few things. It wasn’t our neighborhood Stop & Shop, which is key. The…
