Winter is in full effect here in the northeastern US, so it shouldn’t have come as a shock to me when Friday’s forecast predicted snow. Yet… despite being a native New Yorker, I still experience shock & outrage when the forecast predicts extreme temperatures and/or snow. I’ve lived here almost my entire life, yet I’m still indignant that I must suffer through all four seasons. (Well, that’s not entirely true. I can deal with three out of four of them. Happy New DAY
So… 2016 officially finito, & Betty White is still alive & kicking it, so there’s that… If your 2016 was the dumpster fire that it seemed to be for most people -based on what I’ve seen via social media, anyway- then you’re no doubt glad to have awoken this morning to a fresh start: the crisp, bright new canvas that is 2017. All That Glitters Is NOT Gold
Well, I’m here writing, and you’re here reading, so it looks like we both survived yet another holiday season- yay, us! I love putting my all into creating a special holiday experience for my family; I really do. I love decorating the house so that it feels inviting and cozy. Though I dread the actual shopping (as I’ve mentioned here), I savor the thrill of giving my loved ones gifts that I know they’ll be so excited to have. As a mother of six children, maintaining my weekly schedule can be daunting at times. In addition to the usual meals, homework, and household routine, a good part of my time is also spent shepherding my kids to and from their various activities. As busy as my week can be, however, I’m genuinely thankful that my kids have the opportunity to participate in events and programs that enrich their lives.
